Earlier today, I told you about Vidyz 2, a video
storage and embedded player. And one of the main reasons that I am an advocate of having a player that is not controlled by YouTube or Vimeo is that you are allowing someone else to control your fate... they could ban your video at any time.
Well I kind of learned the realities of that today! You see, when I created my bonus page and demo videos for Vidyz, I had a Vidyz account that is there for people to test the product. This means that many other people can also access that account... and today, someone did.
Someone logged into that account... and deleted all the videos people had put in there for testing... which included my demo, my video about why not to use the YT player, and a copy of the official demo and sales page.
In other words, someone decided to sabotage everyone. Which just proves exactly what I had been saying... DON'T LET OTHERS CONTROL YOUR FATE!
Fortunately, my interview with Brett was NOT on that demo account, so they couldn't erase that one.
But because of that...... person, I had to come into the office on a Sunday, put those videos into my Vidyz account, and put those on my page.
It sucks, but I learned my own lesson! Don't make the mistake I did with Google or with some untrustworthy marketer... Get a Vidyz account and protect your videos!
