YouTube is one of my favorite sites. I have dozens of YouTube channels, and I manage dozens more for
others. I have made a living coaching people on YouTube, creating trainings on YouTube and making sales through YouTube.
But there is one problem.... their embedded player SUCKS... and that's not even the right word. it is actually dangerous to use and can cause you or your clients to LOSE MONEY.
How?
Well, imagine you have a product you are selling, and you have a nice sales page, and you put a YouTube embedded video on that page. Here is what you get....
- A player with a logo, a watch later button, a clickable title, a clickable YouTube logo all on the screen, distracting viewers and looking terrible
- If they pause the video, a bunch of 'related videos' on the screen, some of which could be YOUR COMPETITION, all of which are clickable, and take people away from your sales page.
- At the end of the video... here comes those related videos again!
- The logo on that video is clickable, and will take people away from your page
- The title on that video is clickable and will take people away from your page
- The YouTube logo is clickable and will take people away from your page
- You have NO CONTROL of that player, and no tools that HELP make your sale... only items that can take people AWAY from the sale!
- And of course, if people flag your video, or YouTube decides they don't like it... your video goes away, and you are left with a blank rectangle, telling the world that the video was removed for violating YouTube's rules.
None of that is good. But now imagine instead of your product, that is a CLIENT'S page! DISASTER!
