How Important Are YouTube Thumbnails, really?

There are a lot of videos, articles, and social media posts about YouTube thumbnails. But the question is... Are they really that important? More than that, do they make you extra money?

Well, let's take a look at the stats...

Videos with good thumbnails get clicked MORE... a lot more, as in 50% increases in the number of clicks.
Getting clicked more will make your video rank higher... and if you have a good thumbnail right when you publish, you can get early clicks and rank faster
On a recent video, the people that choose what is 'recommended' on the home page, etc. admitted that a good thumbnails and title are how they choose the content to promote!

As you know, more clicks means more views, and more views means more actions from the viewers!

But there's another way that thumbnails make money. Businesses will pay to have them made. I have clients that will pay a few hundred dollars to have nice thumbnails on their page. Why? Because they know that it matters, and I think they like to see this.....

Sorry to make you scroll that much! But I think you get the idea.

But the next question usually is... "That's great, but I am not a designer, how can I make amazing thumbnails?"
