I know that usually, when I write an email, it is about videos... or graphics... or animation.
That's because I LOVE that stuff. It's fun, effective and profitable.
But in order to run a business, you need more than a video editor, a landing page builder, or a training on Google My Business. You need to collect money, account for the money, send invoices, proposals and more.
For the last while, I used Quickbooks for some of this. But I had some issues with QB. First, it doesn't do recurring payments, so you can send an invoice, and a client can pay it... but you can't automatically collect payments each month... at least not IN the program. it was also kind of expensive, especially since I didn't use most of the "nerd stuff" in there.
But I kept hearing about FreshBooks, mostly from my friend Pat Flynn. So, I decided to check it out, and I fell in love instantly. This program seemed built specifically for people like me. It looks nice, is easy to get the stats you want, but more importantly, it dies some AWESOME things that I couldn't do in QB (or couldn't figure out, maybe).
- It does the recurring billing that I desperately wanted!
- It creates nice invoices that can automatically be sent out (QB did this one as well)
- It creates proposals and/or estimates for you and manages them! THIS IS AWESOME! You can send a proposal or an estimate, and the client can except it... this is WAY cool!
- You can track all expenses
- You can manage projects
- You can track people's time
- It's less expensive
- YOU CAN TRY IT FREEEEEE!!
What I really like about this is that rather than being an accounting software, it's more like a business management tool that does accounting.
