As I mentioned yesterday, I have been crying out to the universe, for the ability to put
video in emails.
And over the years, a number of people and products taunted me with animated GIFs (still VERY effective), or images with a video play button to get people to click (also effective)... but none actually put video in the email inbox.
This why I have been SO excited by EmailSpike, which actually puts real video, right in the email, and is playable in the actual email.
But the question is... does that ACTUALLY increase opens, clicks and SALES?
It seems the answer is YES! Admittedly, having a video in your email is not really going to effect opens, as the viewer doesn't know the video is there, unless they open... or your subject line is "Look an actual Playable Video In This Email".
But as for clicks to a product page, and sales.... Well, my clicks with videos in the email are up about 4X over emails that had a similar number of opens.... 4X! And when you get 4X the clicks, you get more sales... and are sales are indeed UP in the last 2 weeks!
