Back a while ago, a friend of mine came to me, because they had a new music video out, for an updated version of the 80s hit 'Pacman Fever', Just in time for the Adam Sandler movie 'Pixels'
His band had paid a TON of money to a NY marketing firm, to make the video 'go viral'.
At the time he contacted me.... they had about 100 views :(
So, I jumped into action. First thing I did was find videos, related to the movie 'Pixels', that allowed advertisements. Then I ran their video as an ad, placing it on those videos.
The result.... 13 Million views, and lots of downloads of the song. The cost was only a couple hundred bucks.
The moral of the story is that Ad Placements with YouTube WORK! And I have done this with many other local clients, including a Boston lawyer, where we ran ads on Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins videos.
The only problem, is FINDING those videos that you want to place ads on, which also allow ads. This can be time consuming, and often you end up trying to place ads on videos that don't even allow ads.
