Many years ago, perhaps around the time of the iPhone 5, I decided to try something, that really could have been an embarrassing moment.

I had recently watched a video of a company shooting a commercial for Bently, using iPhone 5s and editing on an iPad.  This was a revelation to me, and I decided that if you can make commercials for $100,000 cars with an iPhone, I could shoot a talking head video for a client.

After all, I had shot many of my videos on that iPhone.... but there was still that voice in my head saying, "there going to laugh you out of the building".
But I did it anyway, and I was surprised by 2 things that happened.
- They appreciated that the setup was small and quick

- They were fascinated to see the great results we got

And in the end, we had a great video for this law firm, and my future changed, as I started shooting most of my client videos with that and future iPhones.  After all, there were actually ADVANTAGES over my normal set-up.
- It was smaller

- It had the built-in screen that was BETTER than my DSLR

- In later iPhones, it was 4K

- It had apps like Filmic Pro, which gave you TONS of control, and you could wirelessly out put to a big TV!

The point is, a smartphone is GREAT for video projects, and the quality of the video is better than pro equipment from a few years ago!

But of course, like any camera, you do need a few things, to get the best results!

The extras you need, include things like....
- Extra lenses

- Stabilization (tripods, monopods, etc)

- Lights

- and perhaps most of all... MICROPHONES.  That is the single thing that can improve your videos!

- Other odds and ends, like remotes, brackets and various wires.

Well, I just got a very nice package from my buddies at MOVO, and in that package was the new iVlog4 kit.  This is part of a series of smartphone kits that help you shoot better videos.

And this kit came with a TON of goodies....
- The WMX1 wireless microphone system, which I have talked about in the past

- The NEW PR3 Smartphone holder/grip/tripod mount

- An LED mountable light

- The SPR5 Smartphone cage for mounting your smartphone, light and WMX receiver

- A shutter remote, so you can start and stop recording, while away from your phone

- A snap-on wide-angle lens for your smartphone

- The MV-T1 Mini Tripod (I use this for my webcam)

- Assorted wires, grips, wind muffs, and lens wipe

Basically, everything you need in one package!  and MOVO have a variety of iVlog Kits, with slightly different variations, to fit YOUR ideal set-up!  Take a look at my unboxing video here:
